Finally DONE :) Sucks watching all your friends hanging out when you're studying, but handing in that last exam before the break feels SOOO good.

Just want to wish everyone a very, very HAPPY CHRISTMAS and a prosperous and safe (but still terribly fun) NEW YEAR!!

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. When your Spanish class gets unexpected cancelled and you'r stuck at school for 4 hours with nothing to do, catch up on e-mails and blogs. So I guess that's why I'm here. Plus it seems appropriately times for what seems to be this monthly habit of piling up 30 days of activity into one blog.

Formal
The grand YFC Overnight Celebrity: Under the Stars Formal Dinner/Dance of the 12th of November 2005. THAT was a good time. I went with Tuhin, a friend from school. It was a slight struggle to get him to cough up $35 since he's an international student with no job and an incredibly tight budget. But, as Karl said, it was good for him. He's used to having fun the was residence students have fun so the formal was a good change. And from what I saw, it looked like everyone had a brilliant time. From the dancing (both good and bad) to the videos to the presentations to the auction. All the girls looked gorgeous and the boys looked so handsome.

"Props" to Czeska who did an amazing job as our in-house techie. It WAS a screening and, despite the technical difficulties, your works of art were widely received and applauded. *tear* I'm so proud of you all grown up!

Pics will be on the way shortly. As soon as I get my memory stick from Czeska, I'll try to seed out the best ones and post them up on a server.

School
School's going quite well. I'm really enjoying all my classes, except maybe Economics which is kind of boring. Funny how it's my major. But to learn all the cool (...as "cool" as Economics could get) stuff, you have to know the basics and how to reach the cool stuff. Math is fun. Yes, Czeska. Fun. Mass Comm. is fun. My TA's really awesome and our readings are pretty interesting. Spanish is great. Es muy interesante y divertido.

Work
What can I say? Work is work. The people are still great, but I'm definitely ready for some new experiences. But the hours are great, it's not strenuous, the pay is good...it's an all-around great job that I'm lucky to have. And it's a safety net. I'm scared that if I leave, there'll be nowhere to go. But I might be forced to leave since my family's going to New Jersey/New York for Christmas and Futureshop has this you-have-to-work-Boxing-Day-because-crazy-people-line-up-at-5-am-to-get-good-deals-on-electronics rule. My manager might be able to pull some strings for me, but if they say no, I can't say I'll be very hesitatnt to quit. On good terms, of course. We'll see.

YFC
Already mentioned the Formal up there. There's not too much else to mention. We didn't have RLC. Well...we did with Metro, but only Jamin went because we all had school and work and such. We definitely need to have a meeting sooner than later. With conference in Montreal in 8 months, we've got to get our butts in gear.

Grey's Anatomy
My new TV obsession. This show's got the crazy medical cases, witty banter, enough drama to fill 16 soap operas, scenes that tug at the heartstrings enough to make me cry, and best of all...AMAZING MUSIC. With radio sucking more and more, I don't even bother listening to anything other than CBC. Yes, I'm a 60-year-old woman, I know. But seriously, why listen to the radio when you get such brilliant music on tv. The music supervisor is the same one who works on The O.C., which I don't watch anymore but I still check out their website's music section. But seriously, if you've got an hour to spare on Sundays at 10pm, tune into CTV or ABC and have yourself some Grey's Anatomy...if you so please. It's brilliant.

Well, I guess I'd better start on that studying thing. Math test in 2 hours. Wish me luck :)

Oh yeah, and HARRY POTTER this friday!!! If you're interested in going, I think I'm gonna try to get some people together for the 7pm show at Silvercity. And let me know soon because I'm gonna try to get tickets tomorrow before they run out. EEEE!! HARRY POTTER!!

Time for some procrstination. And updating. Yes Czeska, I find it strange too.

JASON MRAZ
GAH. That concert was beyond brilliant. Two amazing opening acts (Carbon Lead and Raul Midon) and a TWO HOUR show from Jason. We were expecting 1.5 hours tops and the songs just kept coming. Some super old school ones too.

Photos at: http://filtering.multiply.com/photos/album/1

Raul Midon, the second opening act. This guy was born blind and he plays guitar, harmonica, drums (on the guitar) and "trumpet", but the trumpet's just him sort of whistling into the mic. So it's not so much whistling since it sounds like a trumpet. Ridiculous. We met him after the show...cool guy.

Jason and Raul doing a duet  called "Keep on Hopin'".

That concert was worth so much more than what we paid. The energy in that place was so high. Jason, the band, the audience...everyone was just psyched having a good time, dancing and singing along.
"TAKE OFF YOUR PANTS!" "Take off my pants!? Is this what Ottawa's about?" (Insert loud cheers)
Brilliant.

"GA"
Well that was an interesting meeting we had today. Lots of PBA stuff and a bit of formal stuff. It was pretty much just core there since it was so last minute, but hopefully we won't procrastinate the PBA raffle tickets and the formal stuff. Had to leave early to come home and clean/do homework.

Which I didn't completely end up doing because I got a call from Chris who went to Queen's and hasn't been back since he left. I had to stay home with my grandmother tonight so we couldn't go out, but we ended up talking on the phone for an hour or two. I don't think we've ever had a conversation like that. He's really shy and has a hard time opening up, but I guess him being forced to meet lots of new people completely out of his comfort zone forced him to open up a bit. I definitely hope there are a lot more of those conversations to come. It was nice to just let loose and catch up and be silly and giggle.

ALIAS
Okay, so they took Michael Vartan off the website and out of the credits...doesn't mean he's gone. JJ Abrams and ABC could just be playing with us. Right? Please let them be playing with us!!

Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the WereRabbit
Good movie. Lots of fun. It has a bit of that adult humour in a kids movie that kids wouldn't understand a la Shrek style. And the puns run rampant throughout the movie. "May contain nuts". Heh. A friend who wanted to watch "Two For the Money" left the theater saying how good Wallace & Gromit was.

Anywho, should get back to that cleaning. It's going to be a busy month, this October. A ton of tests, assignments and midterms coming up. And to make things more stressful, we've got relatives coming up next thursday and then more the weekend of the PBA tournament. Not that I don't like relatives. I love seeing them and hearing about how the rest of the family is. But their staying in this house just quadruples the stress levels already present in my family, and that's not an easy task to accomplish. But alas, what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger. And my grandmother will be happy having them around, which in turn will make us all a little happier. Happier is generally a good thing, no matter what the circumstance. Right. Cleaning.

Cheers!

This feels strange updating for 3 consecutive days. Feels like I'm in 2004 again...heh. But I must for 2 reasons.

1) ALIAS. I'm not even sure if anyone who reads this watches Alias. I'm not even sure if anyone reads this...other than Czeska. And Ren. But anywho, ALIAS. WTF. Okay, so even though we saw the 203828 bullets and the pulse flatline and the funeral with a coffin, he can't be dead. It's bloody Alias! How many times have people "come back to life"? More than I can count on my two hands, probably. Besides, he supposedly signed a contract for the whole season. And JJ Abrams was all "it ain't over till the fat lady sings" and "you might not see him in an episode, but it doesn't mean he's not involved". If anything, they'll probably keep him out of the next few episodes and then bring him back after. They have to. If I don't see the beauty of Michael Vartan on my tv in the next month or two, someone gonna get a-hurt real bad. Hee...Russell Peters.

2) I got "tagged". Heh. It's like that stupid frog e-mail friendship thing, except this one's worth while because it has to do with music and...it's not dumb :) It's bloody hard picking only 5 songs though.

the rules : list five songs that you are currently loving...  it doesnt matter what genre they are from, whether they have words, or even if theyre any good, but they must be songs youre really enjoying right now...  post these instructions, the artists, and the songs in your blog (xanga)...  then tag five other xanga/livejournal friends to see what theyre listening to...

1 : "the shadow proves the sunshine" - switchfoot "i'm a crooked soul trying to stay up straight.shine on me"

2 : "clockwatching" - jason mraz (TWO DAYS!! EEEE!!) "lady dreamer you might be the soundest sleeper.tonight sleep tight and build your nest upon my shoulder"

3 : "i will follow you into the dark" - death cab for cutie "love of mine some day you will die.but i'll be close behind.i'll follow you into the dark.no blinding light or tunnels to gates of white.just our hands clasped so tight.waiting for the hint of a spark"

4 : "over my head (cable car)" - the fray "and suddenly i become a part of your past.i'm becoming the part that don't last.i'm losing you and its effortless.without a sound we lose sight of the ground"

5 : "world on fire" - sarah mclachlan "we part the veil on our killer sun.stray from the straight line on this short run.the more we take the less we become.the fortune of one man means less for some"

and i tag... well, there's probably only like 3 people who read this so I guess...I tag you. Yes, you...the one reading the screen.

Guess I'd best be off. Math test tomorrow...

PS. Maui, if your #2 is what I think it is...teehee. Too bloody cute.
PPS. Your #5 - freakin' good song.

I invited my friend from work over tonight to tutor her for her Discrete test tomorrow. I forgot SO MUCH stuff...it was really depressing. The stuff I'm doing in my Linear Algebra course was what we did for the last 3 units of Discrete, but she's still on the 2nd. It was brutal. And she paid me too...I felt so bad. We did get some work done, but we spent so much time just staring at the page really frustrated.

But anywho, here's a video from the summer taken the same day as the one of Curtis on Czeska's page. But this one was with my camera so the quality's a lot crappier.

I love you, Ren.
